First let me say that today it's absolutely gorgeous up here! The trees are all dressed for New Year's in their frosty white frocks and the cold air looks as though it's throwing silver confetti!
Welcome 2011 we can't wait to see what it brings. Think snow, think snow, think snow, think Super Pipe.
We happily received 35" of white gold with that last storm and the mountain is glorious. The backside DID NOT open all day yesterday so, there’s still freshies in those trees. On a day like today you might want to check out Sparkle Valley in between the Smokey Boarder X and The Alley which, by the way, is another rush but can be saved for when the pow is well, less powy. The star in the map below marks the terrain I’m talking about.
A word to the wise and the extra hungry, don't get too greedy or you'll end up hiking out a sweaty mess.
Also my snow bunnies, MORE gates may be opening later in the day... follow on Twitter and/or Facebook for real time gate opening announcements. If you’re not familiar with our Huckleberry Canyon Gates and terrain, check out our free backcountry tours starting in January. If you can't make one, I will be taking on the adventure which means, there's a blog post coming soon.
In case you were wondering, guys can be snow bunnies too.
