....Mother nature sure has a big hit in store for us! A strong storm fueled by pacific moisture will bring periods of heavier snow and lighter snow throughout the week. Start getting into gear for a full week's worth of precipitation. The expected 10 day storm cycle will hit Sunday evening through Martin Luther King Jr. day and into Wednesday. These 4 days will dump heavier amounts of snow which could bring us a total of 1 to 2 feet daily! Another 6 days of the storm could bring us just as much snow as the previous 4 days totaling 6-8 feet by next Saturday! We'll be shoutin' "Halleluja" all the way down the powdery slopes when she comes!
With these conditions in store, it is very important to be prepared. I advise everyone to have an emergency kit placed both in your home and car. Keeping updated on the road conditions and weather report are a must as well and we make that easy for you through text alerts. No matter where you are, you can be the first to know when we get 6 or more inches of snow. Simply text "snowalert" to 29222 to subscribe. If you want to get the sierra scoop everyday text "conditions" to 29222. For more information on the storm system to come check out what BA's thinkin.
Speaking of staying safe today is the start of National Safety Awareness Week which will continue through the 22nd of this month. Come stop by the information station next to Grandview Express tomorrow and enter to win a GIRO helmet or goggles! Our employees have worked hard to develop creative ideas designed to continue to help educate skiers, riders and employees about the importance of safety on the slopes.
