What's up powder lovers and Sierra loyalists! We have a little some something special to share with you this weekend (if you haven't already scoped it out) ....get into that snuggie, pop those kernels, recline that lazy boy back and be pumped on the airing of Transworld Snowboarding's first evaa Team Shoot documentary on Jan 30th at 11PM! Yours truly teamed up with Forum, Snow Park Technologies and Transworld Snowboarding photographer Ian Ruhter to create their segment on Environmental Awakening. Photographer Ian Ruhter had the vision to create a submission that was both artistically edgy and had a powerful message to benefit the snowboard industry. Ian wanted to promote Environmental Awakening as a wake up call to riders everywhere that actions have consequences. Litter, air pollution, green house gas emissions , and forest fires - they all impact the environment when we ride.
Once the concept was established, Forum brought a team of incredible riders together and began to visualize actual features. We worked together with Snow Park Technologies to build all of the features, making the vision a reality!

Riders that got down on Features that were the perfect match to deliver the message - da breakdown on some of the action involved:
Appliance Jib: One of the first features to be shown in the video, it symbolized the accumulation of used equipment for which we have no disposal plan. Stacked up to create a take-off for the riders were: 30 dishwashers, laundry machines, dryers and more. Most of the appliances were taken from dumps, used appliance stores, and garage sales, which was then drilled out to create a visual effect. Nic Sauve is featured on the appliance jib doing what he does best.
The pond skim to pole Jam: A pond was built on the deck of a jump and an old lift tower protruded from the front of the pond so riders could skim across the pond, rail slide the oldie lift tower and drop to the landing. The litter that is in the pond was accumulated by the riders and crew during the week-long shoot. The Feature was a metaphor for the degradation of our natural environment. Daniel elk was featured on this feature.
The Superpipe: One of our signature terrain parks that Forum was excited to incorporate into the shoot. Oil barrels were staked along the deck of the Superpipe, filled with scrap wood, and set on fire to symbolize the air pollution from green house gas emissions. Pat Moore was featured in this segment.
Recognized by Transworld Snowboarding as a "Best Value" and a " Best Vibe" resort, it only seems right that we host the party.
Hope you will support this awesome documentary by watching! Thanks!!
Always keepin it real,
